This blog is about figuring out health, and my pursuits and discoveries in doing so.  I consider myself an astute individual, but I knew nothing about healthy eating and healthy food until I was in my mid 30′s.

Everything I learned about health & nutrition in school, from my home life, and throughout college taught me nothing I needed to know in order to help my body work the way in which nature intended.

I never thought it was possible to be a thinner version of myself past a certain point. My entire life I’d been told I was ‘big boned’ and simply came from a ‘big family.’  I had no idea how unhealthy my body was on the inside until I began this journey, nor that what I was eating (now how much) is what kept those extra layers of poundage intact.

I want to share with everyone how I forged this path, what it took to get there, and what I learned along the way.

This site is dedicated to Nina & Craig who have both been unyielding supporters since February 2010 when all of this really took off!  Thank you both!

Enjoy!

PS – I forged very slowly through this evolution and that is one reason why it’s worked for me.  I gave myself time to evolve and permission to evolve at my own pace. I changed patterns and habits as I discovered them long before I ever worried about regular work outs or a specific menu, or even food list.  It hasn’t been easy, but it hasn’t been particularly hard either. If I had to start over and I had a preview of where I am today, I think I may have forged faster!
